I am a Ph.D. candidate in the University of Chicago Department of Political Science and an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow in Washington, DC. My research interests cover American politics and political theory. More specifically, I am interested in institutional measures designed to make the levers of government more accessible to citizens. This interest currently manifests itself in the form of research on political representation, ballot initiative reform, direct democracy, and compulsory voting.
